Darjeeling is universally lauded as the champagne of teas. This highly prized variety is produced exclusively on the fog-shrouded hillsides of Darjeeling, in north-eastern India, at the foot of the Himalayas. Like the finest wines, the tea estate in which it is cultivated is specified (Rungmook). 

 

The flowery aromatic bouquet and the assertive palate, with subtle notes of muscat, make it a true one-off in the world of tea. A spot of cream and a touch of honey are appropriate accompaniments.
